Since departing Carrot, I've been bootstrapping a startup idea in the athletics coaching space. Additionally, I've been leveraging my experience and talents to help companies through fractional leadership. Interested? Check out my services page.
I joined Carrot as their 8th employee. Since then, we've grown our revenue by over 100x and scaled our team 50x. Along this journey I've focused on innovation through new products, scalability through both team and technology investments, and extensive compliance through thoughtful cybersecurity and data privacy practices. When an opportunity arose to lead a new startup's engineering journey, I put aside any imposter syndrome and jumped in head first. I worked solo for the first 6 months. StackOverflow as my closest teammate. We went live after about a month, attracted several customers, mentored 3 interns, but ultimately failed to achieve product-market fit. I learned so much over these two years and wouldn't trade it for the world.
In the wake of several power outages in the United States, GE was contracted to improve data heuristics for major grid providers. I was part of the team responsible for our visualization and monitoring stack mostly built in C#. Our solution ensured higher uptime for customers worldwide.
Blue Slate was my first professional software engineering role. Supporting our consulting arm, my responsibilities ranged from supporting consultants on everything from Python to jQuery to custom IT solutions. I also ran a Java Web Components course to promote continued learning for our engineers.
